Chef BEN, mastermind chef from Ipoh, Malaysia has a passion to share the exciting culinary delights which he learned from his parents from his home country, Malaysia. He started Penang Road Restaurant at 177 Clarendon St, South Melbourne 3 years back and become a big hit. Now he spreads his wings to establish a new branch at 69 Mitcham Rd, Donvale VIC 3111 and named it Penang Village.

Originally founded as a Penang Road in 2013, Penang Road focused on achieving steady improvement in quality and service. The restaurant was soon winning rave reviews from all over the world. Laudatory articles in food magazines, Youtube and newspapers contributed to Penang Road’s growth. In an article published on July 13, 2013, Juliet John, a broadcast journalist rated Penang Road as one of the top gourmet restaurants in Melbourne.

His secret recipe of well known South East Asian (S.E.A.) dishes are Seafood Curry Pot, Deep fried Whole Barramundi with Baba Sauce, Malaysia Chilli Prawn and Penang Village Chicken. The special spices are specially imported from Malaysia making Penang Village the only place you can enjoy this delicious cuisine. His dream is to make the Malaysian Chinese cuisine a part of Australian food culture!
